From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners groups.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
